Design process Phase 1:
Cleaning up the office, Just hung the longhorn on the wall for the first time.. Its H U G E. Starting to go through the routine of design considerations-What should I do with this skull? geometric freestyle pattern? Continue to hone the covid-floral designs that I have been doing during the social isolation period? Im leaning towards the Floral design. I could also do a landscape similar to the “alpine Longhorn” or the “Texas Wild Flowers & Snakes Guitar”… What about a beaded night scene like “Maeves Deer”
I have been circling around this Nudie-style western-chain-stitch design for a couple years now. Chain stitch and embroidery is like tattooing for clothing. Nudie Cohn and Ft lonesome are my personal favorites. I love to watch what they do, very inspiring.
Other design considerations-
The longhorn is from a ranch in South Texas. I could incorporate a bunch of regional flora…
